The Middle East

Almost 5,500 people of 95 nationalities are serving with Operation Mobilisation in over 110 countries to bring a message of hope to the peoples of the world. We have one thing in common—we love Jesus and we want others to have the opportunity to hear about Him.

Through literature, the creative arts, friendship, Bible studies, videos, DVDs, CDs and MP3s, correspondence courses, relief and development work, and much, much more—by all means possible we will tell people how our lives have been changed—and how they can meet Jesus.

DOUG AND CASSIA WENGER

Brazil

In 1998 God called Doug and Cassia Wenger to Brazil to preach the Gospel. They heard the call, sold their belongings and moved to Brazil. In the first year God opened the door to preach in more than 165 services. In the last 10 years they have seen many people come to Christ, many receiving healings, and many going to the mission field.

But they still were burdened for the poor. They wanted to make a difference in lives that accepted Christ, yet were struggling to survive. They developed a project that would help not just one person, but also the whole family. Seeing the project being developed created many challenges. Then God orchestrated a beautiful plan that started to unfold and their project started to move forward.

Doug and Cassia are in the process of restoring a donated building. The “Community of Love” association was created with twelve board members. The project will serve anyone in need of: food, clothing, dentist, doctors, after school tutorial, training classes such as: English, Computer Skills, Spanish, etc. The evenings will offer a Theology school that is equipping those with the calling to go to the Nations and preach the Gospel. Those that are receiving training in the school are the volunteers that will work during the day on the project.

Doug and Cassia also travel the country of Brazil preaching the Gospel.

Brazil is still the largest Catholic country in the world, but many pagan practices are blended with the catholic ceremonies. In Brazil, you can go into a convenient store to purchase witchcraft items, to buy things to execute a voodoo ceremony, and pick up a bag of chips. But, the light of Christ is shining over Brazil and they are experiencing a great revival right now. It is harvest time in Brazil. Doug and Cassia are always impressed at how open the Brazilians are to accept Christ. Whenever they preach, people come to Christ.

EQUIPPING THE SAINTS

Weyers Cave, Virginia

ETS helps ministries find the materials and equipment they need at a minimal cost by networking with individuals, businesses and ministries around the U.S. to meet these needs. Whether it's finding and shipping a bus to Chile, medical supplies to the Ukraine, computers to Tajikistan, a road grader to Brazil, shoes to Romania, clothes to Sudan, food for Iranian refugees or projectors to the Philippines, ETS is ready to serve.

Some items provided by ETS are obsolete in the U.S., but still useful in other countries. Many items come from government auctions. Other items are purchased at special discounts. Vehicles, medical and dental equipment, computers, office and school equipment are sometimes donated. Once, an entire print shop was given!

ETS was founded and run by Keith and Jan Jones.

Nanda and Lisa Giri

Nepal

Below is a post from Lisa Giri on the Calvary Chapel blog.

Hello, friends! The 4th session of Calvary Bible Training (CBT) is going on right now in India. Gene, Chad, and Nanda left yesterday for the 5 day training. This session covers the New Testament. There are two sessions to go, and then this group of 22 pastors will have completed the entire year long training! We need to pray that each of them will be able to use what they have learned in their own congregations and beyond. Also, we are praying about which location to begin the next CBT!

In other news, Nanda and I are in the process of applying for a business Visa in order to stay in India. We will be submitting all of the paperwork in the next week or so. In case you're wondering, it will be an export/import business with a focus on exporting coffee to the U.S. We have a Christian buyer whose heart is to assist missionaries. Praise the Lord for this provision! The proceeds from the coffee will support future CBT's. There have been many obstacles, but the Lord is in control and we are on the way!

"Now thanks be to God who always goes before us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him." II Corinthians 2:14

Blessings to you all,

Lisa
